EPCs / HIPs

Home Information Packs were introduced in 2007, and suspended as of 21st May, 2010. What this means is that, by law, if you are selling your property, you no longer need a HIP.

However, you are required to have ordered an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) before your property is marketed.

What is an Energy Performance Certificate?

The Energy Performance Certificate grades the energy efficiency of a property and can be useful to potential buyers.

To order an EPC, fill in your details below, and speak to our EPC team. You will simply be required to grant access for a Domestic Energy Assessor to come into your property. The Domestic Energy Assessor will then produce the EPC.

Why do I need an EPC?

It is compulsory that all properties for sale have a EPC. Sellers are required to commission, but won’t need to have received an Energy Performance Certificate before marketing their property.

How to get an EPC

EPCs are available from 1st Property Lawyers. Simply email our friendly team on epc@1stpropertylawyers.com for more information.
