Conveyancing Week in Brief

Conveyancing Week in Brief

The end of another hectic week in the conveyancing world, with new house price reports, confusing conveyancing and our very own guide to conveyancing fees.

House price surveys have once again dominated the weekly conveyancing news, with Nationwide and the Land Registry releasing their latest statistics on the state of the property and conveyancing markets.

It’s not really any surprise that both figures contradict each other, with the Land Registry claiming property prices rose 0.1% in June, and Nationwide stating that house prices fell by 0.5%.

As always, 1st Property Lawyers advise movers to take house price reports with a pinch of salt, and whatever happens, we’ll continue to provide great value conveyancing.

A survey from Reallymoving.com has shown that 57% of adults in the UK don’t even know what the term conveyancing actually means!

It also highlighted the fact that large numbers of the public, including people who have previously gone through the conveyancing process, were completely unfamiliar with the work a conveyancing lawyer actually does.

Luckily for these people, help is at hand in the form of 1st Property Lawyers Spotlight on Conveyancing feature.

Each week we take an in depth look at one aspect of the conveyancing process and break it down so even the most confused mover can understand.

This week we focussed in on conveyancing fees, and how to avoid falling victim to rogue conveyancing firms.

Keep an eye out over the coming weeks for more great conveyancing advice from 1st Property Lawyers.
